Description

1979 marked the end of an era for Ford pickup trucks. The now classic "Dentside" series Ford Trucks embodied more than a look; it was a feeling, a change toward modernity, and a step toward what we now consider the luxury side of trucking.

1979 marked the end of an era for Ford pickup trucks. The now classic "Dentside" series Ford Trucks embodied more than a look; it was a feeling, a change toward modernity, and a step toward what we now consider the luxury side of trucking.

The Ranger XLT Lariat package kicked off this feeling in 1978. Its introduction provided folks like Dad and Uncle Jimmy with a sense of real swank. Fully carpeted floors and kick panels, extra padded headliners, and special button-tufted upholstery and trim set off the mood. You didn't have to be a Marlboro Man any longer. You had real class now. And for what it was worth, you looked damn good doing it too.

Our 1979 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT Lariat factory 4x4 short bed is exactly that. A nod to the end of everything good Ford had to offer in 1979 in arguably one of the coolest color combinations we have ever come across. Talk about a rare bird. Likely less than 5-10 short bed pickup trucks left the factory in this amazing combination of Maroon Metallic and Candyapple Red in Lariat package trim.

Powered by its 351 V8 engine and mated to a 4-speed manual transmission ensures you will be just as every bit badass as you look going down the road. Built on December 18th, 1978 and sold new on February 22nd, 1979 by Wendle Ford Sales Inc. of Spokane, Washington.
